Gokyo Pass Cho la Trek

The trek provides the ultimate trekking experience as it covers the entire upper Khumbu region. This trek is famous for its proximity to the Everest, but also because it provides a hands- on opportunity to experience the Sherpa lifestyle, colorful settlements with entertaining festivals, quiet monasteries as well as a chance to see the Himalayan wildlife with exotic animals and birds and even the mystical legendary yeti remains and stories.

The trekking is a bit demanding as it covers a wide area from Gokyo Lake and the Cho la pass at 5330m to the Khumbu region above Lobuje. But the trek is rewarding as you get to absorb the magnificence of 4 out of the 10 highest mountains in the world including Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and Everest. This is a high altitude trek that requires proper acclimatization process. The massifs of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang surround the Gokyo valley with its glaciers, turquoise lakes and scenic mountains. This trek is a challenging one best suited for experienced mountaineers trying to experience every adventure the region has to offer.
