To begin your ascent, you’ll firstly have to complete the trek from the airport at Lukla to the Everest Base Camp. This normally takes around 10 days, but can vary depending on weather conditions and the experience of the other climbers in your party.
Use the time on the base camp trek to take in the views of the approaching Himalayas and to soak up some of the local cultures that you’ll experience along the way. One of the highlights of this Everest Base Camp trek is an opportunity to visit the Namche Bazaar, a colorful, diverse, historical, and vibrant stopping point on the journey.

Once you’ve reached the Everest Base Camp, it’s time to decide if you’ve got the reserves and the perseverance to push on to the summit. Most organized tours will give you time to rest and re-energise as they prepare the following camps for your ascent.
The next part of your attempt will depend on your itinerary and the company that you’re traveling with, but you’ll probably trek between the forward camps a few times to help to establish them and to get yourself used to the altitude and climbing conditions.
Once you’re acclimatized, energized, raring to go, and you’ve got the perfect weather conditions, its time for the main event, the climb to the summit.
